Process Hacker

Process Hacker from WJ32 is a free open-source utility that displays all the processes running on your PC in a compact, customizable view. It offers performance graphs, thread listings, stacks, and much more. You can not only terminate individual processes but entire associated trees; suspend, reduce, restart, and debug processes; view detailed information on network processes and services from a unified listing; create dump files; and call up enhanced Properties Dialogs with as many as nine tabs of detailed information and settings.
The download also includes 32-bit and 64-bit versions, which covers all Windows editions from XP SP2 to the latest editions. It has a simple tabbed dialog interface with a main list view of running processes, services, and network processes. It even offers five different tray icons, plus there's a surprising number of options, including the ability to enable plug-ins to expand its already considerable capabilities.
We terminated and restarted some noncritical processes and services with no difficulties, and we tried out several of the more powerful features, too, though whenever you use software that ends or alters Windows processes and services, it's a good idea to proceed with caution because a wrong step can have drastic consequences. But Process Hacker comes into its own when your system is misbehaving, usually because of a single troublesome process or service that has stopped running. With Process Hacker in your portable software toolkit, you'll be ready.

Process Hacker provides a customizable tree view with highlighting showing you the processes running on your computer. It provides comprehensive information for all processes including full process performance history, threads listing and stacks with dbghelp symbols, token information, module and mapped file information, virtual memory map, environment variables, and handles. It provides full control over all processes, even processes protected by rootkits or security software. Process Hacker detects processes hidden by simple root kits such as Hacker Defender and FU.

What's new in this version: Version 2.26 has added option to show Commit Charge in system information summary view and improved support for multiple GPUs.
